Encouragement
This poem was written in 2019 and is now being dedicated to my sweet niece, Joleen Cogburn for lifting spiritual belief from her heart by encouragement as she truly reflects the light of the Lord with her daily devotionals.
ENCOURAGEMENT
Every moment of time we have
A new form of change takes track
Time passes so quickly we notice not
Until we actually turn to look back
Everyone was placed on this earth
Each with a specific path to journey
For individual growth of knowledge
Gaining our lessons to lock in memory
It is at birth the feelings touch our hearts
As all are born with a breath of God’s light
Although it must be shared to rejuvenate
To shine that glorious joy within so bright
We must accept each step of change
Otherwise the inner light will seem dim
The best way for you to be recharged
Is from light rejuvenation of a friend
Keep each other’s light shining
Even to a stranger who is down
As the more we shine on others
Our inner light will shine all around
Live in the light of the Lord’s return
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:8
We should reflect the inner joy of life
By faith, love and hope to demonstrate
Lift the spirits of everyone you can
By encouragement and edification
As 1 Thessalonians 5:11 points out
To shine on others with reflection
The light will pull us out of darkness
In the times of need on our journey
A word of kindness or a lending ear
Just as I need you and you need me
Life is the ticking of time we are given
With seasons of changes that pass by
Open your spiritual mind of thought
Your inner child of light will multiply
Keep moving forward with peacefulness
Idleness will only bring forth destruction
Keep living and giving your love to others
To complete all of the life lesson education
Encouragement gives us a burst of energy
Focus on the goodness in life around you
Even when you face those difficult times
Then your goodness will shine through
You need to awaken those senses
To learn what you already know
Look for the good in everything
Keep shining the light as you go
