Engagement

ENGAGEMENT

A diamond ring,
Just a bit of bling,
But just the thing,
To make her heart sing.

It isn't much,
On it's own just a touch,
Of sparkle and such,
But it means so much.

To her it's a sign,
Concrete to define,
The depth and the line,
Of love throughout time.

Not much on it's own,
It's a rock, it's a stone,
But it's fame has grown,
Untilit stands alone,

Among all the others,
It's the jewel of lovers,
From girlfriend to mother,
It surpasses the others,

So the quest has begun,
And you're under the gun,
And you'll spend a ton,
To get just the right one;

But not so this lady,
I know it sounds crazy,
But I thought that maybe,
I'd get one, but pay thee,

Why is he so lazy,
That no effort makes he,
The honor the maid he,
Made wife and gave babies;

So I thought I'd buy one,
I thinnk I deserve one,
It won't be a big one,
But all women want one.
