Enough For Now
She was finished with one more letter
Meaning she had finished one more heart drawn seal
Wonderinghow he may respond
In three days time as he reads her words
Will he be angered
By reading something wrong
Will he cry himself to sleep
For she longs to have him hold her- or
Will he view her pictures
And feel as alone as she does
With one last look
She places the envelope with the next day's mail
Wishing he could be there to comfort her
An uneasy fear of sleeping alone
Overcomes her as she ventures through out her house
SLowly, yet steadily, turning out lights
Crawling into an empty bed
In a dark lonely room
Bravely, she reminds herself of his promises
He promised things would get better
When he came home
He promised it wouldn't be long- though
Maybe not this week or even this month, but soon
And that had to be enough
His words had to be enough for now
Till he walked through her door
Home to stay
For good
