Even Then

even in the most desolated place the palm trees bend in a forgiving grace and valiantly adorn the surly vista with old lace sewn satin ribbons torn to jagged little strips the slightest of currents then joyfully skips along like fingers over old piano keys the fronds sway and bounce in rifts even with the most severe breeze gazing down on the ocean’s rocky cliffs the beauty of each wave’s animated curl commands all the senses enclosed like a pearl so completely held in its thunderous space aqua blue hopes of the days spent cliche yearn for rest upon a sandy doorway even as I write of visions to impart and hold them darling inside my heart my love for you forevermore hovers near i feel it in the birdsong sung for you with cheer and in the seas murmur of each sensuous glance felt with the caress of palms quivering goodbye against the silk of the sultry wove sky
