Evil Is Everywhere
Evil is everywhere - you only have to look at the news;
No matter the venue, nor which way you choose.
There's no escaping the darkness of evil's sordid stain;
There's nowhere to run, no outrunning the pain.
Our God has given Commandments for us to live by;
Why is it man always asks questions, wondering why?
Why can't we accept His Word and live by His Book,
Or are we just pawns dangling, from Lucifer's hook?
Exactly what is evil and what is not;
Evil could be in the moment; it could be your lot.
What may seem evil, to you from afar;
When you're up close, you might hitch your wagon to that very star.
There are lands far different from that of our own;
Theology dictates the sins, for which we atone.
Is it evil to condemn a man for what he may say;
Is it evil to stone a woman for what she's wearing today?
Is it evil to kill others in justice's facade;
Is it evil to shun family in the name of our God?
Each society dictates, what they think is right or morally wrong -
Only our Redeemer has the power, to keep us ever strong.
Our beliefs are the answers to all of our prayers;
Sanction of condemnation to all that man bares.
Back in that moment in two thousand and eight;
When love became more powerful, than evil and hate.
Torah Bontrager, an Amish by birth;
An Amish daughter with little Earthly worth.
Escaped at a time when she was fifteen;
And graduated from college - a feat unforeseen.
