Feed The Flames

Love can be a fire raging out of your control
With passion leaping higher everyday.
Love can be a candle in the darkness of a soul,
Just enough to help you on your way.

Over years, too many tears will drown out any flame.
Perhaps you can re-light it but it’s never quite the same.
If you want your love to last, don’t treat it like a game.
There is no doubt. You’ll snuff it out.

If you want the fire burning brightly feed it everyday.
If you don’t you’ll lose the light, the warmth will fade away.
Flames will turn to dying embers. They may not return.
It’s important to remember if you want your love to burn
	Feed the flames!

Matters of the heart can be such complicated things.
The tiniest of sparks can lead to love.
And love can make you scream and cry or want to dance and sing.
Hit like lightning from the sky above.

But over time a flame will die if you don’t give it fuel.
What once seemed a volcano will then sputter and then cool.
If you want your love to last then don’t act like a fool.
Without a doubt you’ll stomp it out.

A loving word, a gentle touch. The little things can mean so much.
A simple lesson all must learn if you love and you want that love returned.

If you want the fire burning brightly feed it everyday.
If you don’t you’ll lose the light, the warmth will fade away.
Flames will turn to dying embers. They may not return.
It’s important to remember if you want your love to burn
	Feed the flames!
