First Date

FIRST DATE
He picked me up and called me wife. His eyes earth brown and bound with mirth. His rod doth reel me in his life. Did God but see this at my birth? Ordained to sail upon his heart. To laugh at jokes in harmony. To knead our flesh - not play a part And seal our lips in symphony. The trumpet blows, before its time. A chorus singing out of synch, And trouble brews, and heat does climb. Unnoticed yet so we don’t blink. What danger lies behind my mind, Of sentiment and rough recline? Perhaps my days are mostly kind - Green eyes removed and feeling fine?
The earth must sense the warmth of dirt. The pearlescent moon-glow - a flirt. 11/6/2017 8 syllable sonnet
