For Every Heart

A silver tongue's intoxicating pitch; allows little time for contemplation. For witty words inevitably switch from flattery to manipulation. To lessen the hurt of rejection's sting, you've learned to stifle your emotions. And yet, craving love, you'll try anything; even crystal balls and magic potions. You're hoping to find a lover to love; a mate to hold and forever treasure. Yet, your heart will accept nothing short of a lifetime of happiness and pleasure. Trust dwindles as fantasy dreams play out; leading your heart to a false conclusion. For frustration often turns into doubt; in an erratic state of confusion. For every heart, there is a counterpart; your soulmate's out there, waiting to be found. And should you meet, you'll feel it from the start, for your pulse will throb, and your heart will pound.
