Love Poem: For The Culture

For The Culture

They bleed red blood on tar black street
Yet called thug as beat blue black on repeat
Thick and thin skins the color of soil
Purchased in history more valuable than oil

Why did you choose these as slaves
For the culture did I hear you say
And did you mumble about ancestors who pray
If you hear God what did God actually say

For the culture they stomp their feet
As they sing hyms the heavens seek
They are the strength you envy and fear
For God will crown them while your culture disappears

For the culture you belong in the melting pot
The worst of you fired the best of you begot
Ironically you have lost your way
And for the culture you are now a slave
