Fountain of Love
I’m here now – floating – in this calm pool of mind,
For the fountain of love, she nurtures in her heart.
Now my cry of gratitude grows
And hails her love that her heart flows.
My heart cracked like a well and its veins froze
Like withering water bodies, during a drought,
And then her fountain of love reached my heart
And flooded it with the thick blood of her love.
Now my cry of gratitude rises
And hails love in my heart she nurses.
I floated – dangling and banging – in a stormy sea
Like a skiff that a gust may drive hither – thither,
And then she lifted me like a softer feather
And sailed me to a haven, safer and calmer.
Now my cry of gratitude flies
And hails her love: a worthy prize.
(I used past tense in Couplets: 3, 4, 6, 7 to tell speaker's past story/emotional status. For the rest, I used the simple present tense.)
