From Dreams of You
In the dawn . . . I arise from dreams of you,
the wind outside is breathing deeply low;
and birds sing among the flowers- of dew,
the night is fading but the stars still glow.
Oh . . . let your love and kisses fall and grow,
touch my waiting lips and cheeks cold and pale;
come from deaths rest, come love, so we can sail,
let us clasp each other 'till the stars fade.
Now . . . around me falls daylight's sunny veil,
oh, for this love- grief is the price I paid.
