Gambling With Time
For the moment, I’m fine on my own
Searching for the right one for me
But I don’t want to die all alone
That’s the moral of the whole story
I’d give anything to meet my soul mate
I wonder what she’s doing now.
Will she appear before it’s too late?
Or have I passed her by somehow?
I’m so in love with this fairy tale
This gamble with no guarantee
A waiting game with my heart for sale
The chance might never come for me
I pray you put these thoughts to sleep
And put me out of my misery
But only if we connect real deep
Can you partake in this blinded dream
I’ll share with you the best of my days
Conquering trials with smiles
The plan’s flaw is the error of my ways
Going through life in denial
If I should cause the soul’s demise
I extend my sincerest apologue
For if I should fall short in the wake of your eyes
I’ll end a love that wasn’t to be
Though lonely stats and divorce rates
Say sole mates are in huge demand
It’s interesting how we tempt fate
And risk the hearts that love commands
The ones we hurt land on their feet
Stronger, they don’t just curl up and die
They vow to never admit defeat
These people are in short supply
