God answers Jesus’s prayer to Be Glorified
After the father received Jesus’s prayer, he looked down towards him and said: “Son, indeed the hour has come. I will glorify you, that you may glorify me. 2 For I granted you authority over all people and you might give eternal life to all those I have given you. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know me, the only true God, and you Jesus Christ whom I have sent. 4 You have have brought me glory on earth by finishing the work I gave you to do. 5 And now, Son, I will glorify you in my presence with the glory you had with me before the world began.
God answers Jesus’s prayer for his disciples
6”You have revealed me to those whom I gave you out of the world. They were mine; I gave them to you and they have obeyed my word. 7 Now they know that everything that I have given you comes from me. 8 For you gave them the words I gave you and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that you came from me, and they believed that I have sent you. 9 You pray for them. You’re not praying for the world, but for those I have given you, for they are mine. 10 All you have is mine, and all I have is yours. And glory came to you through them. 11 You will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and you’re coming to me. Holy Son, I protect them by the power of my name, the name I gave you, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While you was with them, you protected them and kept them safe by that name I gave you. None had been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 You are coming to me now, but you say these things while you are still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of your joy within them. 14 You have given them my word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more then you are of the world. 15 Your prayer is not that I take them out of the world but that I protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world even as you are not of it. 17 I sanctity them by the truth; my word is truth. 18 As I have sent you into the world, you have sent them into the world. 19 For them you sanctify yourself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
God answers Jesus’s prayer for All Believers
20” Your prayer is not for them alone. You pray also for those who will believe in you through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Son, just as I am in you, and you are in me. May the also be in us so that the world may believe that I have sent you. 22 You have given them the glory that I gave you, that they may be one as we are one - 23 You in them and me in you - so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that I sent you and have loved them even as I have loved you.
24”Son, you receive those I have given you to be with you where you are, and to see your glory, the glory I have given you because I loved you before the creation of the world.
25” Righteous Son, through the world does not know me, I know you, and they know that I have sent you. 26 You habe made me known to them, and will continue to make me known in order that the love I have for you may be in them and that you yourself may be in them. “
