Gods Love Vs Mans
God’s love in a renewed heart
Governs the impulses and controls the passions;
Subdues imminent enmity
And ennobles the affections
It sweetens the life of the follower
And sheds a refining influence
Its seeds are not selfish
For in selfishness there’s absence.
If God’s law dwells in the heart
It’s also in the mind
The actions will be kindly
No banishments of others to find
Graciousness that’s caring
With understanding that is rare.
Friendships always cherished
Not thrown away into thin air.
God’s love is so much deeper
Than that of mankind,
Whose fickleness is striking
And to God’s love so often blind
God’s love is comforting
And compassionate as well
Not demanding but giving
Each friendship time to swell.
God’s love is not impatient
But rather brings us peace
Such love He wants shared
His love all others to release
He doesn’t make promises
He’s not prepared to keep
Nor does He leave us
To climb a mountain that’s so steep.
He doesn’t say, “I’ll meet you
One day in the bye and bye.”
Rather, “I’ll always be with you
On me you can rely."
God’s love is so dependent
Unlike that of man
He always offers the sinner
A loving, helping hand.
