Love Poem: Gone

Gone

My teardrops fall and hit the sink
I look out the window and try to think
How I used to help you do the dishes
Apparently you had too many wishes,
Too many hopes and dreams
And you started playing games.

Suddenly there's too much heat in the kitchen
I smell something burning in the oven
But I just get another lager from the fridge
Though I know beer won't build the bridge
That will get me back to your heart
And I just don't know where to start.

I'm still haunted by echoes of your laughter
Whatever happened to;they lived happily ever after?
How could you choose money over love?
I can't understand this kind of change
It makes what's familiar strange
And I feel my mind just disengage.

But then, unconditional love is just a dream
 A tragedy,a distant star
And endearments like for better or worse
Are but just a tentative guess
You left me in this mess and stress
And for this wound, you're the nurse.
