Love Poem: Goodbye My Love

Goodbye My Love

Coming home, there was a letter on the table.
It read, " I'm sorry to end it this way.
It hurts me that I wasn't able.
To look into your eyes and walk away."

Holding your letter, my hands began trembling.
My thoughts overwhelmed my broken heart.
The vows we took I was remembering.
As my tears poured out, wondering where you are.

I know I wasn't the perfect husband,
but I loved you more than you'll ever know.
Never thinking our love would ever end,
and you'd leave me here with no one to hold.

I looked and saw our wedding Photo.
This farm and you are all I had.
I pray this heart of mine can let go,
of all the pain stirring inside my head.

The heartfelt letters I sent each night.
Were desperate words, to make things right.
Your love you wrote had somehow died.
To read your words, so have I.

Your love you wrote had somehow died.
To read your words, so have I.
