Love Poem: Hats Off To My Mother

Hats Off To My Mother

HATS OFF TO MY MOTHER

Hats off to my mother! She did so much for me!
She fed me through her body before mine she did see.
She nearly died to have me, yet when she saw my face,
She cried for joy to see me; the pain was soon erased.
She nursed me at her bosom, she came there when I cried,
She hugged me oh, so closely, there at her precious side.
She changed my dirty diapers, she bathed me till I’m clean,
She helped me put my clothes on, then patched my torn up jeans.
She taught me through example, she showed me how to love,
She prayed there for me daily to God who lives above.
She made sure I obeyed her, she taught me great respect
For Dad and for my elders; and that I won’t forget.
She taught me about Jesus and how to pray and sing,
And how He died on Calvary, eternal life to bring.
Yes, mothers are so special; that’s why we meet today
And why this special Sunday, the second one in May,
To honor and commend her for all her special roles
In raising up her children with high and lofty goals.
As the help meet to her husband, she’s given now this praise
For caring for her children through those special early days.
I’m sad that there are mothers who don’t their role support,
Who’d rather be a prostitute or would their child abort,
Or who’d rather be a drinker, with no morals or no shame,
And try to make excuses or place on others blame.
“The hand that rocks the cradle will surely rule the earth”;
And mothers are so special from conception right through birth.
So to those who are Godly, “Hats off” to you we say;
We want more mothers like you, and for you now we pray.
