Have You Seen Her

I saw her the other day with large bags at a coffee store I'd never been as close, but it's possible I'd seen her before

She wanted to enter, but realized her bags could not go with her My offer to watch her bags till she returned was my best offer

Several weeks later, I saw her not quite as strange and faceless
We had connected with her whose eyes and smiles were priceless

Sitting nearby, we noticed that she was enjoying our conversation
and releasing her beauty like a breakthrough of 'social elevation'

Many of us have seen such people, but we look right through them Most times, we choose not to make eye contact with her or him

We don't want them in our neighborhood, nor too close to us We are content that they do their own thing and not make a fuss

We say, "Why can't they pick themselves up by their bootstraps"? Many of us go through bad times and find a way out of mishaps".

Sometimes, we are arrogant and proud of our secluded address, never realizing that we could be three checks from homelessness
