Love Poem: He

He

I fall in love with people I don’t know
Not the ones I’ve met
I pray someday they’ll connect

A lot of times they’re taken
A lot of times I’m mistaken
But I think that’s the test

We live in a world so full of fear
Lies, Hatred
Is sometimes all we hear

But I have faith, you see
I know deep down God is saving someone for later, he.

He will have a love for God that burns so deep
Deeper than his love for me
Because without the thirst for Christ
Our love will run dry,
We’ll try, then we’ll cry
Because there’s no substance to our union in God’s eyes, he.

He won’t be what I expected
He’ll look like a normal guy
But something about him will make my stomach feel like a million, little butterflies are inside,
And make my heart dance, he.

He will want to do something greater
He’ll want to do God’s work, through his work,
And make his talents matter, he.

He won’t be like the others
There will be no comparison
Our love will be like a perfectly fit glove,
Just enough room for us, he.

He won’t have to impress me
Or undress me to get to the core of my being
All he will have to do is be himself
In this sometimes cruel world that wants to make him into someone else, he.

He will love me fiercely, not fearfully
Because God’s given him the courage,
And the wisdom to go after what he wants faithfully, he.

He won't be perfect
I'm not perfect,
But he'll see what no other man has been able to...
Me, he.

But right now,
I’m sitting on this computer,
Letting all my thoughts roll out
Because I was inspired by someone to write this poem,
But of course I haven’t met him yet,

He.
