Here and Now
I never knew in my past
that we in our lives go through
this annoying task
of highs and lows
and when you realize
there is someone
that I just can't let go
because he's captured
my heart...my soul
years ago
I torture myself everyday
reminding myself in every way
the feeling I had when he looked
deep into my eyes
time stood still
and I way hypnotized
the smile when I heard his voice
we didn't get to see one another often
but that wasn't by choice
then there was that day we walked away
having so damn much to say
could not put it into words
my world shattered then and there
but I believed it was over...through
between me and you
forever
so I went on with life
found someone, had my kids
thought it was bliss
who knew it would
come to this
the constant memories
never going away
I see them vividly
each and every damn day
it's not the remembering
that gets to me
it's the fact I've not told
him yet how I still feel
we've both bee hurt before
but our wounds have had time to heal
I don't expect him to come back to me
just hope I can make him see
what I feel is true
I don't want to intrude
on his life now
but I do have to let him know somehow
life is way to short to let chance slip by
always asking yourself why
stand up take a bow
speak up clear and loud
cause you have to live in
the here and now
