Hidden Beauty
Hidden Beauty
Hidden beauty is not found in scribbling’s on the sub way walls
Nor in the mines below, in with the dirt and coal
Not on the lines at grocery stores or at the malls
Or digging in the dark in ice and cold, for that heart of gold
Beauty is found deeper than all things hidden
Between wrinkles and behind the lines of age
Without design or reason it is seen still living
In my loved ones face, through history, as it turns the page
In our youth we both remain the same and true
I see past the ravages of time in her glowing smile
She is the hidden path that I pursue
All directions lead to her home over the miles
Beauty takes on the challenges of youth
Like aged wine refined and growing better over time
Something once was hidden in her eyes with truth
But I found it and now she’s mine
