Holding on to Love

Some say it’s a Blessing and a miracle
from above,
When strangers meet and fall in love,
A beginning of adventures full of exciting
times, surprises, and thrills all await.
From every outing or date, something
special is remembered and replayed,
The mind is easily distracted and always
in a dreamy state.

Every thought, positively sweet, eagerly
conveyed without being delayed,
A rollercoaster of new emotions sends
the head into a frenzy, seeking and
searching for inspiration for future trysts
ahead,
While the heart is lovingly engraving
every word said,
Without knowing, feelings of love begin
to take hold, and time apart moves slowly
and seems long,
Sleep loss, feeling restless and lonely,
as absence makes the night linger on and
on.

Be it a spat or misunderstanding, it can
cause heartache, so don’t let the dust
settle,
Every second counts; take some time
and mend the rift,
Don’t let strife fester and become a
never-ending battle,
Why stay upset, and why wear a frown;
remember that dark clouds will lift.

It won’t be long before both start
humming their favourite love song,
Neither remembering who was right
and who was wrong,
So don’t build walls, and don’t stall,
Just answer and fulfil love’s call.

Never delay in rekindling the fire,
Compromise is the game, so play with
understanding, place no blame, and
forget everything prior,
Enjoy the experience of Love’s quest,
There’s no need to stress, accept you’re
blessed,
And leave the outcome to time, as it
knows and always does what’s best.
