How Very Real You Are

In the morning, my conscious mind wakes, I direct my first thought to you;
The gift of mind and breath again, fresh grace for a day anew.
Light pouring into my lifting lids, like the sun rising faithfully,
With casting colors my sight comes in focus, and received most gratefully.

Now for your voice I am listening, you are speaking, I am hearing,
you are singing, sometimes crying,
heart rejoicing, sometimes sighing,
Invisible you are, but how very real you are to me.
Omnipresent Father, love forever, how very real you are.

Casted rays upon life's troubled waters, your word now guiding me.
Your quiet whisper amid life's distractions, yet amazing grace so sweet.
Tides rushing in beneath my feet, looking downward brings me low,
The place of grace as if I'm walking on water, where milk and honey flow.

For your voice I'm now listening, you are speaking, I am hearing,
You are singing, sometimes weeping,
heart rejoicing, sometimes leaping,
Invisible you are, but how very real you are to me.
Omnipresent Father, love forever, how very real you are.

Cares now fallen for my children to weigh me down so readily,
Sudden clouds of darkness overhead, it's raining so heavily.
But like a valiant knight with a sword of lightning you go fighting the gray,
Joyous skies of blue now breaking through, my victories won for the day.

Now I'm praising, and I'm dancing, as you're speaking I am hearing,
You are singing, sometimes weeping,
heart rejoicing, sometimes leaping,
Invisible you are, but how very real you are to me.
Omnipresent Father, love forever, how very real you are.

Tables of time turning, like summer days burning.
As the seasons grow harsher each round,
The elements now crying louder, as men try to endure the sound.
Yet you are waiting patiently, having provided the atoning way,
Will one more soul only believe, the heavens hush just to hear them say.

And now I lay me down to rest, my eyelids like curtains fall,
Safely trusting in your given grace, having given me your all.
As I fall asleep now listening, for our faithful song,
Your holy presence blankets me, watching the whole night long.

You're softly speaking, and I am hearing,
No need for crying, no need for fearing,
 You are singing, sometimes weeping,
 heart rejoicing, sometimes leaping,
Invisible you are, but how very real you are to me.
Omnipresent Father, love forever, how very real you are.
