Hummingbird
I went out this morning to check
my hummingbird feeder, on deck.
The nectar was low-
quick filled it, although,
my eye caught a fast-moving fleck!
And there we were- quite face to face-
it staring at me- hung in space;
this beautiful bird
appearing quite blurred-
wings beating at such a fast pace.
It stayed there and starred in my eyes-
now wide with my look of surprise!
Not fearful at all,
this bird, sweet and small,
did trust me in spite of my size!
My hummingbird sees me each day
while checking the food at the tray,
and knows that my heart
much love does impart-
and likewise, its faith would convey!
