Hunger
HUNGER
From out of this world comes a hell we call life
They call life a gift from God above, but what about me
What about the love in my stone cold heart
Laying dormant now for years
In legend sleeping beauty dies
Only to be awakened by the kiss of love
In her place now I lay on pyre
Awaiting love as spiritual fire
To bring me new life after emotional death
Riding into sunsets long shadows fall behind you
Happily ever after only happens
In the tales we read, in the dreams we weave
What matters most is not our happiness
But those things so immaterial
A simple man making futile attempts at reason
Finding excuses for his actions
But all he asks is satisfaction
For the hungers in his heart…
