I Am Just Getting Started
I'm just getting started on my new revised life
Taken from cancer’s claws, I was spared
And in the daunting morning light
As I grasp the new branch of a life finally free
In wonderment of judgement day
My breath new against my breast, deeply
I reach out to feel my way, alone
Unsure of my direction ~ no secure compass
With tentative steps unleashed from fear
I am awash with delight at every corner
I have taken wrong turns and fast u-turns
No going back to a past long finished
Alone has always been better than that
Then I found you along my way
Filling me with hope I leap ~ then run
Circle back to you, for you are genuine
Holding my hand as you let me play or go away
I fly now toward new dreams and countries
Taking chances, stretching beyond my known
Not alone anymore if the fire returns to burn
Yes, I'm just getting started on my new revised life
Full of hope, encouragement, angel light
Through fire you are forged to crystalline beauty
Through love you are reborn in confidence
Fly me to the moon on mended wings
