I Envy
I envy the man who gets to you. I envy the man you allow into your space and who gets to stand face to face with you as both your eyes build electric bridges, sending shocks via the soul that will become sparks that in turn will ignite the two of you like dry brush in a California Valley, leaving both of you in a state of combustion. I envy that man, because I know that with you, the two of you will create something that burns everyone else into irrelevance.
But beyond the man with whom you create that desert of ashes, I envy even more the man who remembers to water you afterwards. I envy the man who remembers to water your mind and your soul in the way that the storms that love the earth send drizzles and downpours to replenish and restore it, ensuring that even though the two of you are often burning, you are also often growing. Because I know that as he does this both of your souls will become intertwined like tangled kudzu vines. And that deeper connection with a beautiful figure like you is something my heart always calls out for."
