I Love You Less
I watched you for days
Hoping you'd notice me.
The poem on my windshield
Told me that you did.
My desire for you I could no longer hide
Knowing the feeling was mutual.
Sex that night, whirlwind romance
I was head over heels in lust.
Sexy you were, conversation on point,
Every expectation was met.
You were mine and I was yours
And no one could get in between.
Time went by, now I'm in love;
I just knew you felt the same.
Oblivious to another in love with you,
One who shared your last name...
The one you vowed yourself to,
The one whom you promised to be faithful.
Bringing it up caused incessant battles,
Wars seeming to never end.
Bruises, cuts, crimson blood shed,
Neck engraved with your hand prints.
Happiness dissolved into a pool of depression,
Your lies continued to float on by.
I'd always try to leave you
Yet you'd force me to stay.
Domestic violence was my leash,
Your abuse gave me no slack,
Tethered to a fence you created,
No room to fight back.
Selfish and uncompromising
No one else could have me.
Greedy and insatiable
Having the best of both worlds.
Bipolar and cruelly abusive
I love you less now that I know you.
