I Smiled
When I was with you it was like, for once, God wasn't watching
Like monstrous, angelic wings, you carried me through fields of uncertain bliss
And the hues of the blues of the skies soared fierce
You caressed my body in a corset of glistening light
In the fleet of an instance
And my soul was guided through foreign depths and neon steps
What a marvelous love you've proven to be
Your heart tinkered with me like a tin soldier in a toy store
You'd get me wound up, and watch me uncoil to your liking
And the sweet hush that escaped your love stained lips spoke to me in wondrous sin
And I followed
I skid across a path laced with thorns
As deeply woven through the mist as my fingers in your hair
I let them prick the supple flesh of my inner thighs as crimson blood licked my skin
Brittle bones broke
And weakness turned friendly
I call you my destroyer
But the trigger you pulled still bore the warmth from my hands
And the bullets you took were engraved with my name
And when you drew to aim
The coordinates were inked in black across my face
Smitten with the inside of the barrel
With its nothingness
Its deceitful nothingness
And I smiled.
