I Was Alone
I was alone
Lost in this world
Trying to find just a glimmer of light
I was blinded by misery’s darkness,
Drenched by shame and fright
I was alone
Seeking shelter
Hoping
That one day I might find.
A place for my heart to call home,
Somewhere that was truly mine
I was alone
Seeking nourishment,
Longing to feed my hungry soul
On a quest for completion,
To make my flesh feel whole
I was alone
seeking refuge
A place of tranquility
then I met my heart’s joy
The missing part of me
He took me and clothed me
in his finest garments
silks, satins
And his robe of the pure white
He gave me dominion over his heart
And accepted as his wife.
I was alone
And seeking
But never know that I was searching
Until I met this man
Who showed me that I was worthy to be loved
And held my heart in his hands.
Now,
I am no longer searching
For that something that is true
I have found all that I’ve sought after
And I found it in you.
