I Will Keep Your Smile
First time we met, I got you a flower
A rose it was not, but it was my desire,
You told me you loved it, for you couldn't resist
Urge of my plea and longing that gave it,
Soon things changed when we looked in vain
Searching each other where we don't exist,
In my ardent mind, every dream you fulfilled
Yet I never saw me in your festive daydreams,
Though I emptied for you my entire reservoir
You still remained dry, looking for rainy skies,
When your heart said hello you forced it shut
Still I don't regret, rare moments of true-love,
I see you looking wearily at the exit door
Smiling gleefully still, at my genuine ardor,
If life without you hangs around the corner
Hold on to my love, I will keep your smile.
