If Only You Knew, My Dear
If only you knew, my dear, how ill you were.
Rather, face reality you'd start a war.
You'd become impatient and fiery before
The doctors and nurses could care for my hubby.
I'd worried so. You could always handle me.
You couldn't bear to stay away when holidays
Rolled around whiles in their care; you'd runaway.
Nothing could keep you away from your family.
You thought you were cured and through, yet it reoccurred.
If only you knew, my dear, how ill you were.
