If We Live and Love, We Want Not To Say Goodbye
If We Live And Love, We Want Not To Say Goodbye
I have spilt, red-blood and wet tears upon these pages
echoed wisdom first given by ancient sages.
Time is a harsh mistress, destined to run away
while mankind's greatest desire is for her to stay.
Noting we are no more than mere blink of the eye
if we live and love, we want not, to say goodbye.
Yet that departure, is one we can never miss
life is so fleeting, so much like a stolen kiss!
Time, your immense powers, I will righteously fight
for the joys of living are my one true birthright.
As a poet, these words are sent to one and all
I shall fight Time's death-spell, with all my wherewithal.
Although this saddened heart knows this fight will be lost.
To write another day, I fight at any cost.
