I’ll Wait
I wonder if I should, yet I know that I shan’t
I wish that I could, but I know that I can’t
I know that I would, still I know that I won’t
Cause I know what would happen
and so I don’t
I know what could happen
and so
I wonder if I am truly alone
Are these thoughts unique or maybe off tone
I can’t be the only one to punish the mind
With answers to find, I stand-alone
And wait
For clarity in time
I’ll wait
I strive to have patience, but will I sustain
I’ve tried to find comfort to only find pain
I wish that I could, but I know that I won’t
Cause I know what would happen
and so I don’t
I know what could happen
