In Another Life
We met so long ago; you were nineteen,
and I but seventeen, yet I could tell
you were the one for me! I was a queen
when held by you! You read me, oh so well.
I'd dated other guys. I knew their ways.
Their style of courting - lord, it was a mess!
They all could learn from YOU, for in a daze
you had me from day one, and I confess
though fifty years have passed, I cannot get
your image from my mind. Oh, Dear, I know
there is a time for us! How I regret
we did not stay in touch. You had to go.
Thus we were parted. In another life,
perhaps we'll meet, and I can be your wife!
