In Other Words
I’m thinking of a way to say desire,
That catches your attention when it’s whispered in your ear,
So if you’re feeling lonely, you might listen,
And find it will be comforting to hear.
In other words, I mean to say, I want you.
I’m fashioning a verse that sings devotion,
Proposing the assurance of an easy, rhythmic dance,
And promise if you grace it with acceptance,
You’ll know that there’s been nothing left to chance.
In other words, I mean to say, I trust you.
I’m offering the promise of affection,
In such a manner you might feel it lightly brush your cheek,
Then let my lips embrace your answer sweetly,
Caressing every silent word you speak.
In other words, I mean to say, I love you.
