In Plain Sight
I feel her svelte presence impinge upon
my consciousness, is lurching
with the shades of light
upon the edge of falling night
where she is searching, ever searching
as time grows ever tight.
and in some curse of blindness, cast
impairment on her scrutiny,
and we as passing ships
missing out in this eclipse
usurped by sightless mutiny,
no kiss upon the lips.
in plain sight I wait here, hidden,
her mind and body focus on,
softly call to her and say,
in sweet crushing silence pray,
vanishing like smoke, I'm gone,
swept aside and brushed away.
all I know is that I need her,
and would die to simply hold her,
all her hopes and dreams would be,
preserved by my reality,
my tender arms of love enfold her
if she would chance to notice me...
