In the Midst of Trials
by Mel Eyas Dicdican
Many times along the way
I found myself going astray.
Not just once or twice
But as often as bird flies.
I am not certain how long I could go
For each day so many things that are hard to do.
Doubts and fears seem to be the barricade of my ideals
But these are not the reason for me to hide from trials.
Fight and never give up
This wise principle of old gives me strength to stand up.
Hardship and trials I would face
That the necessity of life I could suffice.
Life without challenges has no meaning
For life is sweet after all the crying.
I should be strong to overcome the obstacle
So that I could reach my long awaited goal.
Listening to elder's advice
Could somehow make me wise.
And when trials would come again
I would say to myself I'm not living in vain.
