In Whispers Soft
I wasn’t so sure what he said, but it meant a lot to me.
In whispers soft, his words did stray,
I strained to catch what they convey,
Though muffled, their sweet essence, dear,
Filled my heart with joy sincere.
Each syllable, a gentle touch,
A message that meant oh so much,
Though unclear, their power true,
In my soul, a love they drew.
The language spoken, not with sound,
But in heartbeats, love was found,
I was not sure what he had said,
Yet his love, my heart widespread.
So in the silence, we did share,
A bond beyond words in the air,
For sometimes what means the most,
Is felt in whispers, love engrossed.
His look, his touch, his voice so soft
His gentle words did softly waft
It was not what he really said
Years since, still lines left unread
