Inner Child
Behind this wrinkled face
a little girl brings Grace.
Beneath this head of gray
she'll peek out to play.
As we slowly walk along
she sings a childhood song.
Within the mirror
her eyes shine bright and clear.
No matter how old I grow
her spirit holds a soft glow
for God gave me hope again
when Inner Love became my friend.
We laugh and swing, have fun
especially with visits from my grandson.
Child-like innocence so free
this Love lives inside of me.
I hold her little hands and trust
that Love will outlast our dust.
