you were there when I took my first step
you were there when I skinned my knee
your shoulder was where I sometimes slept
you were always there for me
you were there when I had my first girlfriend
I really liked her but you did not
you were there when the relationship ended
and there when I didn't feel so hot
you were there when I graduated from junior high
you bought me my dress and did my hair
to you I was saying good-bye
as my hand waved in the air
you were there when I got ready for college
I packed my bags, got my stuff
pulled off from the drive-way that was it
as I pulled off I said 'I love you much'
you were there when I bought my wedding dress
I searched and searched for the perfect one
I became frantic and stress
but with your help I got the job done
you were always there for me
the good, the bad, and the ugly things I've been through
to you are what a real woman and mother should be
for always being there when I needed you the most, I say 'Thank You'
