Joined Destinies
What hand of Fate joins us? Only God knows!
Though you are young like spring, and I am old,
we intersect in time as life unfolds.
Ere long, your suffering, hardships, and woes
shall at last be but misery that goes,
and fades, away. And, what was once untold,
I disclose to you from a heart of gold:
that to my weary soul, your beauty shows.
Together, we journey with both worlds apart:—
in mine, with pen I write lines of inspired rhyme;
in yours, with brush you paint timeless works of art:
though we seem forever from uniting, time
can never sever our bond;—for to depart
from our stars, to never meet, braves the Sublime.
