Joycie
"She is only a heart stop away"
She came to us so tiny,
We could hold her in one hand,
But there wasn't a more loved baby
In the whole of this spacious land.
She lived life to the fullest,
And brought joy to us each day.
The love and delight and awe she wrought,
Is in our hearts to stay.
Her face was the face of an angel,
Her spirit that of an elf.
She asked for no one's pity
And had none for herself.
She was wrapped in a luxury of love,
That cushioned every fall.
It's not the moments of sadness.
But the happiness we recall.
Just like the light from that long ago star,
Still shining in the sky,
She left a glow that will brighten our way,
Until the day we die.
It is not how long the race, they say
But how the race is run
And though she had less than a dozen years,
She made the best of every one.
Won 2nd place
