Liars' Moon

             Liars’ Moon

Seems we’ve been friends forever.
I think you know what I feel –
That we should be together,
Because what we have is real.
This guy has come between us.
I don't know how you feel.

I’m not sure what he’s after,
But I don’t think he’s sincere.
He misleads you with laughter
To keep you from hearing clear,
And blinds your eyes with stardust.
He’s somebody you should fear.

Chorus:
He flatters you with practiced lies
Meant to entice and thrill.
He admits nothing, only implies--
Luring you into his will.
His cold-hearted kisses, and his Pied-Piper's tune,
Are just sunshine promises beneath a Liars' Moon.

I want you to consider
What each of us means to you.
Who should be in your future,
And who wants the best for you.
Who you can really count on;
Who'll be your truest true-blue.
