Like After A Long Separation

You love me, darling, your love went
As deep as it could ever get
But you don’t like to love, I can’t
Do anything about that
It is a joy each time we meet
Like after a long separation
Like in the seaside town street
We would, while on vacation
But changes, like the English weather
Are quick to come, so when I call
There’s not a sign of us together
As if you cannot quite recall
Who is that man, why he persist
To be around every day
What is the point he thinks he missed
Why should I come across this way?
When autumn comes, I have to go
My soul flies south, like a bird
You’re in the north for now, I know
To die in time I can’t afford.
