Love Poem: LONELINESS, LONELY AND MUSIC

LONELINESS, LONELY AND MUSIC

LONELINESS, LONELY AND MUSIC

The pianissimo makes the violins softly cry,
the cellos sympathize with the sadness of the theme Barber’s Platoon
the sublime adagio quells the overwhelmed heart
sending vibrations moaning through my body

I’ve messed up through the years
but your body lays warm next to mine
and right now, right here, tonight
my life is filled with doses of pain and joy

Why must it take pain to feel joy?
I for one don’t get it but I suffer the God-sent sting
undertows of life that constantly beseech me
like dry rivers of rocks rolling over one

Melodies come and go;
some stay but others ride the tide becoming nostalgia of yesterday
Mind felt pictures come at inopportune moments
lay waste to romantic dreamscapes that once were my refuge

The melodies will ride my mind as long as there are good songs
that touch the heart and ease the pain from my weeping eyes
songs like Lara’s theme from Dr. Zhivago
and the Nocturne by Frederick Chopin in Eb major

Feeling loneliness can be cured by a good cry
feeling alone can be cured listening to a great musical composition
feeling loneliness and feeling alone are not the same
And easily corrected; exception is the crying,

The crying will end when it will end.
