Looking Back, I See That Was Hardest Blow
Looking Back, I See That Was Hardest Blow
Cool waves flow across gentle waters blue
clouds and sky above, remind me of you.
In sweet dreams you memory haunts me still
once I loved you true and I always will.
In dreams, I see you in that soft blue dress
joy the nights, I recall your sweet caress.
I pray for your happiness in this life
my great mistake, not making you my wife.
That Fall, your family moved you away
was when my entire world turned ashen grey
Looking back, I see that was hardest blow
we not having, all we were meant to know.
Destiny oft is cruel and awful thing
with sad changes such misery can bring.
Your love-letters sent, each tear stain enhanced
we knew, we had each been truly romanced.
Cool waves flow across gentle waters blue
clouds and sky above, remind me of you.
In sweet dreams you memory haunts me still
once I loved you true and I always will.
