Love Poem: Lorena

Lorena

Lorena how I miss you,
such a beauty you were my dear,
loving you was the joy of
my life.

Your lips were so sweet on
mine, each time we kissed,
sent me to paradise and
beyond.

Your red hair, I will never
forget, the fragrance sent
me to a haven of rest,
tears shall flow whenever,

your memory touches my heart,
our time spent was only
a shadow, gone as a
vapor flows away.

Holding you in my arms,
is a wish wanting
to come to past,
but is not to be.

Our little walks in
your garden or by
our pond, where we
would sit for hours on end.

Poetry was a
love we both shared
together till the very
end my dear sweet heart.

Of nature we would watch,
touching us deeply, we would
depart into the house
and write a poem about it.

One dreadful day in the fall
of 1969, after two years
of loving you, the
doctor gave us the news,

so wanted to marry you,
because of your humble
ways, you said no,
you didn't want to burden me.

Today I paid you
a visit, placed
flowers on your grave,
as tears flowed to the ground.

Lorena will never forget you,
nor shall I ever love anyone again,
for, could never find such
a woman as you, anywhere in the world.
