Lost and Damned
Lost And Damned
We met beneath a kiss of the moon
I'm not sure if I was hollow or whole
You took my hand with some restraint
Eyes as wide as those of a doe
A hunter by nature I sought your heart
Running through fields of wheat
Your scent lingering on the wind
I needed more than anything to find you
But yours was an elusive soul
It was only after years of running
That I found you battered and beaten
Lost and damned
Those years were the loneliest of my life
As I pursued you through the fields
Demons attempted to persuade me to quit
But they failed as I scented your love
And when I took you in my arms the very first time
The purity of your gaze washed over my soul
Your eyes were bewildered and wild
Yet they held the love I had sought for so long
We met beneath a kiss of the moon
And I'm sure now that I felt so very hollow
But I took your hand without restraint
Knowing you were the lost and damned
