Love Poem: Lost Love

Lost Love

We fell asleep as lovers do,
Listening to the raindrops,
Pitter patter on the old tin roof,
Hands entwined,
Souls secretly smiling.

I trembled for his touch,
His fingers, just like a poem,
He had my whole heart, so did he,
An exclamation point,
At the end of my happiest sentences,
I fell for him.

I lost myself,
My once troubled mind,
Contrary to the norm, did not remind me of myself,
A collection of dismantled almosts,
A mess, chaos,
He put me back together so well,
That i forgot i was broken,
I forgot i was me.

Love,
It was always something heavy for my weary heart,
Something i had to carry,
Something i had to bare,
But my prince made me crave for this burden,

And now,
As we lay here,
All he does is play his music,
And all i want to do is to hear.
